Mega containership COSCO SHIPPING GALAXY (IMO: 9795634) reportedly struck a pier at the container terminal in Jade Weser Port, Wilhelmshaven, during berthing maneuvers on Apr 6.
While the vessel’s stern has sustained damage, some 150 meters of the pier were also damaged. It isn’t clear what happened next – the giant ship stopped some 300 meters off pier, and as of Apr 8, 4 A.M. UTC, it is still in the same position, surrounded by a few tugs.
