Hapag Lloyd facing problems with booking acceptance for Germany and Central Europe

  Hapag Lloyd

Citing the recent extreme weather conditions that have affected northern Europe, Hapag Lloyd has issued an advisory informing of operational challenges that could affect cargo planning.

These changes include:

  • All container depots within Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic / Slovakia have limited container availability.”
  • Export containers facing considerable delays owing to vessel delays at the port of Hamburg.

Considering the above situation, Hapag Lloyd is temporarily unable to accept any new export bookings from Germany & Central Europe (Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic / Slovakia) with immediate effect. This measure will affect all bookings from Hamburg until the end of week 9.

The carrier is trying to cover all the confirmed export bookings but has expressed regret about canceling additional bookings. They’re also simultaneously working to find alternatives to reestablish the equipment supply at the earliest.
