project44 announces 2026 Preferred Carriers

Every year, millions of shipments move invisibly: no updates, no data, no confidence. The carriers on this list are the ones at the forefront of changing that.

We’re proud to announce project44’s 2026 Preferred Carriers: 3,714 carriers across 52 countries who have gone above and beyond to deliver exceptional real-time visibility for our mutual customers. Now in its sixth year, the Preferred Carrier Program recognizes carriers committed to raising the bar on real-time visibility, and this year’s class is the strongest yet.

A snapshot of who made the cut:

Coverage spans both sides of the Atlantic, with 1,628 EU-region carriers and 1,618 US carriers, alongside growing representation from Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and beyond. Carriers include everyone from individual owner-operators to global freight enterprises, across Ocean, Truckload (FTL) and LTL modes.

What makes a Preferred Carrier?

Carriers are evaluated across three dimensions:

  1. Shipment volume: minimum annual shipments to ensure statistical reliability
  1. Data availability: the percentage of shipments where real-time tracking data was successfully provided
  1. Data quality: consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of visibility events over the measurement period

Carriers setting the standard

Among this year’s class, several names stand out for the scale and quality of their visibility contributions. FedEx Freight Inc. and R & L Carriers each tracked over 2 million shipments. Southeastern Freight Lines, SAIA Motor Freight, and Estes Express Lines all exceeded 1 million tracked shipments, earning Platinum or Gold recognition for sustained excellence.

Internationally, carriers like FIEGE Logistik (Germany), Bring Logistics (Norway), Girteka Group (Lithuania), and PostNord Sverige (Sweden) demonstrate that preferred-level visibility is a global standard.

Preferred Carrier status is more than a badge

  • Fewer check calls: When you’re sending reliable tracking updates, shippers can see where their freight is without picking up the phone. That’s real time back for your dispatchers on every load.
  • Increased shipper exposure: Preferred status puts your name in front of the shippers, LSPs, and freight forwarders who use project44 to make sourcing and routing decisions. It is a credential that works for you before you ever make a call. And for shippers reading this: the Preferred Carrier list is a ready-made shortlist of carriers who have demonstrated consistent tracking quality at scale. If you are looking for reliable capacity, this is where to start.
  • Competitive differentiation: Real-time data is table stakes now. Preferred status signals you’re already delivering it, and increasingly, it’s a factor in carrier selection before a shipper ever picks up the phone.
  • Industry recognition: Being listed among the top 2% of a 259K+ carrier network is a meaningful credential to share with your customers and prospects.
