It has been reported that container ship MSC SHANNON (IMO: 8913423) was disabled after a fire erupted in the engine room on Nov 7. The Finnish coast guards were alerted at around 12 a.m., earlier that morning.

Though further updates on the ships current status are not available, it was towed away from its location to clear the way for other ships on the busy shipping lanes. Last known update is that the ship was anchored or in the process of getting anchored and that the fire was brought under control with coastal guards keeping a close watch.
