Panama-flagged containership MSC KIM (IMO: 9351581) was disabled after a reported engine failure in the early hours of Mar 6.
The 4,254 TEU vessel was en route from Halifax to Montreal with an ETA of Mar 8 and was in the Gulf of St. Lawrence when this incident occurred. As of the morning of Mar 10, 11:54 UTC, the vessel was still adrift some 30 nm west of western Newfoundland, with no signs of tug boats yet.
