In July, 2026 project44 created two businesses and launched LSP44, a new company built for logistics service providers. Here’s exactly what changed, what didn’t, and why.
Why did project44 split into two businesses?
Shippers and logistics service providers don’t buy the same thing. Shippers buy applications: transportation management, visibility, yard management, and last-mile solutions built to run their supply chain. Logistics service providers buy infrastructure they embed into their own products and workflows. Serving both from one product organization meant neither buyer got the focus they needed. Splitting into two businesses gives each its own dedicated engineering team, sales organization, and roadmap built around how that buyer actually operates. project44 is now purpose-built for you as an enterprise shipper. LSP44 is purpose-built for logistics service providers.
Are project44 and LSP44 the same company?
No. project44 and LSP44 are separate businesses with their own leadership, engineering teams, sales organizations, and product roadmaps. project44 sells Movement, its Decision Intelligence Platform, to enterprise shippers. LSP44 sells AI agent and API infrastructure to logistics service providers (3PLs, freight forwarders, and brokers), who embed it into their own products and sell it under their own brand. The one thing they share is the underlying technology: the same carrier network and the world’s largest, most accurate and real-time logistics data graph that project44 has built over the past decade.
Didn’t project44 start out serving logistics providers? Why is it focused on shippers now?
It did, and that history is exactly why the split makes sense. When project44 was founded, its first customers were logistics service providers, and the carrier network and data graph were built in direct partnership with them. Over the following decade, project44 scaled that same foundation into the enterprise shipper market and became the Decision Intelligence Platform you use today: transportation management, visibility, yard management, and last-mile, all built for enterprise shippers. LSP44 exists to bring that original LSP relationship back under a dedicated business, so project44 can stay entirely focused on serving you.
Does this change my contract, pricing, or account team?
No. This is a change to how project44 is organized as a company, not a change to your relationship with it. Your contract, your pricing, and your account team stay the same.
Will my data ever be shared with LSP44 or the logistics providers running on it?
No. project44 does not share your data with LSP44 or with the logistics service providers that run on LSP44 infrastructure.
Do project44 and LSP44 run on the same technology?
Yes. Both businesses run on the same carrier network, carrier APIs, logistics data graph, and agent infrastructure: more than 280,000 carriers, 1.5 billion shipments processed a year, and 706 million carrier events a day. That shared foundation, built over more than a decade, is what powers the visibility, TMS, yard management, and AI agent capabilities you already rely on in Movement.
Will project44 keep investing in the platform I use today?
Yes. The split lets project44’s roadmap focus entirely on shipper needs, rather than splitting attention between two buyers with fundamentally different requirements. TMS, Visibility, Yard Management, Last Mile, and AI agent orchestration through Movement remain the full focus of project44’s product and engineering teams.
Who leads project44 now?
Jett McCandless remains Founder and CEO of project44, while also taking on the dual role of Founder and CEO of LSP44. Similarly, Vinay Mathur remains Chief Technology Officer of project44 and is also Founder and CTO of LSP44. Project44’s product, engineering, and go-to-market teams operate independently and are dedicated to serving you.
