Containership SINAR SOLO collides with Panamax Bulk Carrier

Containership SINAR SOLO (IMO: 9202792), en route from Singapore to Bangkok, reportedly collided with a Panamax bulk carrier TAHO AUSTRALIA at around 2330 LT on May 6. The incident happened in the Singapore Strait off Lagoi, northern Bintan Island, Riau Islands, Indonesia. The vessel sustained starboard damages in the cargo deck area. It is also understood that several containers were damaged in the incident. The bulk carrier just sustained superficial damages and shortly after the accident, was allowed to resume the voyage.

SINAR SOLO had been anchored near the collision site and later, on May 7, moved to Singapore Anchorage. As of 1300 UTC May 10, the vessel has remained in the same position.
