Crew member aboard containership SPIRIT OF LISBON tested positive for COVID-19. Vessel Delayed.

Containership SPIRIT OF LISBON (IMO: 9431800) is currently held up at the port of Kwangyang, Korea, and not allowed to carry out any cargo operations after one of its crew members were tested COVID positive on Feb 10.

Maersk officials were trying to liaise with the local authorities for the possibility of disembarking the affected crew member. For the time being, the vessel is prohibited from continuing its scheduled journey to Indonesia, where it will need to stay in quarantine for additional 14 days. As a result, the carrier has decided to omit the Indonesia call.

Maersk has notified that they will move the onboard shipments to the next earliest available alternative vessel.
