2017 was a memorable year for project44. We released automation and visibility products across Volume LTL, Truckload, and Rail, while continuing to expand our LTL offerings. We launched exciting partnerships, built one of the strongest carrier networks in the industry, won awards, held a summit, doubled in size… The list goes on.
We also posted some great blogs. Have a look at the top 5 project44 blog posts of 2017
Collaboration is Key at projectAUTOMATE
One of our favorite moments of 2017 came in October, when we hosted our first summit, projectAUTOMATE. We invited industry leaders to collaborate, attack challenges, and share ideas, hoping to paint a clear picture of the future. The result was an outstanding series of conversations, demos, panels, and more. Peyton Manning even made an appearance! After 100% of attendees rated the event 8/10 or better, we weren’t surprised that this blog was one of our top 5.
We’re a 2017 Gartner Cool Vendor
We were privileged to receive some really great accolades in 2017. We are grateful for all of the companies who recognized the hard work we’re putting in, especially Gartner. Gartner, the world’s leading information technology research advisory company, named us their Cool Vendor in Supply Chain Execution Technology for 2017, recognizing the impact we’ve had on multimodal automation and visibility solutions.
Blockchain for Logistics: APIs are the Gateway
Blockchain was one of the hottest topics in all of technology last year, and the Logistics and Transportation industry was buzzing with the possibilities. project44’s VP, Sales Engineering, Jason Kerner, emerged as a thought leader in blockchain for logistics, leveraging his experience working for companies like IBM, Blackberry, and SAP to help educate the industry on what’s possible with this groundbreaking technology, and how to build a foundation to support it.
Logistics Networks Looking to Normalize After Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Harvey
August and September saw one of the worst hurricane seasons in recorded history. Hurricanes Harvey and Irma swept through the American Southeast, leaving Houston and parts of Florida devastated, and intensely disrupting supply chains nationwide. Modern technology was a crucial component of reacting to that disruption, and making sure supplies could get to where they needed to go quickly and efficiently, and helping to normalize the supply chain. With that in mind, we offered our visibility products for free for a month.
Build vs. Buy: Why You Should Leverage Third-Party Technology Vendors
2017 will go down in history as the year the Logistics technology revolution truly kicked into gear. There were more new industry technology companies either founded, funded, or making huge strides than ever before. The wave of innovation is exciting, but shippers, 3PLs, carriers, and other supply chain partners had a lot of information to process. The question of whether to build technology in-house or leverage the expertise of a third-party vendor came up quite a bit, so we wrote a blog post explaining the benefits of leveraging outside help.
It was a memorable year for the industry, especially for us here at project44. We look forward to pushing even further in 2018. Happy New Year!
