project44 announced today that Schneider (NYSE: SNDR), a premier provider of truckload, intermodal and logistics services, has selected the project44 Advanced Visibility Platform to deliver end-to-end visibility on freight shipments and automate a variety of shipping processes across its transportation management business. With the project44 platform, Schneider can provide its shippers and carriers with real-time, seamless access to truckload and less than truckload (LTL) shipment information and freight availability, while reducing time spent on manual processes, improving shipping efficiency, and carrier and customer experiences.

“Schneider has been a leader in freight innovation for more than 80 years,” said Erin Van Zeeland, senior vice president and general manager of Schneider Logistics Services. “Every investment we make is focused on relieving specific pains faced by shippers and carriers. By working with project44, we are able to bridge the supply chain visibility gap with a data infrastructure that also helps us and our shippers optimize transportation operations. Additionally, as a strategic 3PL, it’s not lost on us that making easy adoption of this platform by carriers is crucial, another project44 advantage.”

As its primary API integrator, project44 is accelerating Schneider’s digital transformation for its business and that of the shippers and carriers it works with. With project44, Schneider can provide shippers and carriers with more accurate information on pick-up and delivery times and delays, as well as alternate shipping routes to avoid inclement weather, traffic or events. This data improves productivity by helping customers better schedule dock workers for shipment loading, delivery and processing and by reducing dwell times for drivers.

With more than 550 global Electric Logging Device (ELD) and telematics data partnerships, integrations with all major transportation management systems (TMS) and an experienced technical support team, project44 accelerates the time-to-value of the solution for Schneider and its on-boarding of new carriers. In addition to addressing the cost and integration challenges of EDI, project44’s API-based system limits the privacy concerns of driver phone tracking or the constant request for updates that carriers encounter when there is no or poor data integration.

project44 data integrations are connected via machine-to-machine communications, for industry-leading shipment data accuracy, quality and refresh speeds. With this data, Schneider can create customized alerts notifying employees and customers of potential delays and exceptions. It also powers automation of pricing, scheduling, routing and other shipping processes, streamlining workstreams and reducing the need for manual calls and emails to and from customers regarding shipment status.
project44 enriches shipment location with traffic, weather and road condition and other data, then applies predictive analytics to this information, providing Schneider and its customers with estimated truckload arrival, pickup and delivery times. In addition, lane, location and other performance analytics deliver Schneider valuable insights on areas where it can improve its own and carriers’ performance.

“We are proud to extend our relationship with Schneider as they continue to lead the pack in using digital technologies to increase efficiency and improve shipping performance,” said Tommy Barnes, president of project44. “We share their view that transportation and logistics can no longer be viewed as a cost center, but is crucial to improving customer experiences. With this platform, Schneider is not just reducing costs and improving its operations, but also elevating transportation and logistics to be a competitive advantage.”
