project44 Expands Over the Road Tracking Capabilities to Meet Demands of the Modern Supply Chain

The logistics technology leader unveils the next level of ETA accuracy, enhances data quality and adds round-trip tracking to its Advanced Visibility Platform™

CHICAGO–project44, the global leader in advanced visibility for shippers and logistics service providers, today announced several enhancements to their industry-leading platform just in time for LINK2020: The Retail Supply Chain Conference. Now retailers, distributors, and manufacturers can benefit from industry-leading ETA calculation based on advanced machine learning models, proactive shipment milestone updates, and groundbreaking round trip tracking capabilities.

project44’s new set of enhancements reflect the market’s growing needs for more proactive tracking to include a more holistic picture of in-transit shipments. Truckload ETA leverages historical shipment data from 2.7 million shipments and integrations with over 760 ELD/telematics providers across the US and Europe. Using advanced machine learning models, this builds upon standard arrival time metrics by including historical carrier data, local weather and road regulations, driver hours of service, dock hours, and more. The result is a level of ETA accuracy that leads among visibility providers.

With access to the most accurate and actionable ETAs, project44’s customers can elevate their level of service through better personnel and inventory planning during shipment arrivals, along with more efficient coordination at docks. This results in shorter wait times for drivers, more time driving instead of idling, and a reduction in carbon emissions.

Updates to truckload tracking capabilities allow customers to plan more efficiently to meet the growing needs of the modern supply chain. These include more actionable insights, improved accuracy of origin arrival timestamps, and updated timeline visualizations giving a more detailed view of a shipment’s journey. All of this data is available in project44’s Visibility Operations Center™, which provides streamlined collaboration and end-to-end visibility for key supply chain stakeholders.

The addition of round-trip tracking is a first for the market. The feature enables customers to seamlessly monitor shipments where multiple stops occur. This minimizes tracking interruptions that have impacted visibility providers and prevented key workflow automation. By mitigating these interruptions, project44 allows for improved day-to-day coordination, especially for retail shippers and logistics service providers with heavy reliance on distribution centers, providing advanced workflow automation both pre- and post-shipment.

“It’s important that we continually evolve our current product offerings,” said Raji Bedi, SVP Product Management at project44. “By layering our wealth of historical tracking data into our truckload ETA calculation and enhancing our tracking capabilities, we’re giving our customers a deeper and more complete view of their supply chains and equipping them to win in the Delivery Economy.”

With $10B of transportation spend under project44’s management today, the Advanced Visibility Platform™ delivers actionable high-fidelity data and enables customers to tap into the most extensive visibility network across North America and Europe.
