The pitch competition will then culminate with the SXSW Accelerator Awards Ceremony on Sunday evening, March 13, where winning startups from each category will be announced and honored. project44 will present alongside seven other companies in the Enterprise and Smart Data Technologies session starting at 11:00 a.m on Saturday, March 12 at the Downtown Austin Hilton.
“project44 is an emerging brand that is not only providing much needed state-of-the-art technology services to an outdated transportation industry, but is revolutionizing the way shippers, 3PLs and carriers communicate,” said project44 President, Tommy Barnes. “We’re honored for our API platform to be included alongside the incredible finalists for this year’s SXSW Accelerator Awards.”
project44’s technology solves a systemic problem in one of the largest sectors of the global economy – transportation and logistics. The impact of supply chain inefficiency is becoming more apparent every day, costing companies and consumers billions of dollars. Freight shipment data is key to achieving optimized, cost-effective transportation, but a majority of supply chain members still rely on an outdated communication pipeline called Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) to manage freight flows.
As a cloud-based alternative to EDI, businesses that integrate project44’s Freight APIs (Application Program Interfaces) decrease the overall cost of their freight transportation, experience greater efficiencies, and enable end-to-end visibility. project44 has built a network of Freight APIs that instantly connects shippers, brokers and 3PLs with their transportation carriers, providing real-time data around the status of a shipment to all parties. The use of project44’s technology allows for streamlined, automated freight transportation management and eliminates the manual processes and unreliable data transfer through EDI.
